More stories from PNG

We got to see a plane drop today. That is when a small
plane flies over a nearby field and drops stuff out of the
window for you to pick up. It was pretty exciting and it
showed us what it would be like to be a missionary and
have all your supplies come in this way (possibly only
once a month or so) I can really see how people think
being a missionary pilot is glamorous. The cargo that
was dropped turned out to be two boxes of chocolates and a
bouquet of roses for Sheryl Shiable. They were ordered by
Doug for her to celebrate their anniversary (35th I think)
It was so sweet!

We had our first clear night last night. Oh, how
beautiful it was! I got to see the southern cross for
the very first time, and the Milky Way was so amazing! It
actually looks more like a puff of clouds than anything
else, and to think it is made up of billions of stars -
forming only one of the tails of the whole galaxy. I love
to look up at the stars and Milky Way and just imagine how
big everything is and how small I am. It really puts
things into an interesting perspective.
Of all the things I saw up in the sky, also accounting for
shooting stars, and Venus and Mars(?), my most exciting
discovery was being able to see the big dipper. I don't
know what it is about the familiar, but when everything up
in the sky is new, it was just such a welcome sight.

We got our first lessons in Tok Pisin today with the help
of our very own language instructor. I now know most of
the parts of the body, and phrases for things like opening
hands, clapping, and scratching your nose :)

Some prayers I could use are in the area of health. Four of
us got sick last night with some sort of flu (thankfully
not me) but we are hoping it isn't spreading around.

God bless,
Jeniene

Jeniene, that is one thing I do pray about and that is that everyone will be in good health. Unfortunately, when one eats something contaminated the only solution is for the body to expell it. Glad you are okay, so far. Will talk to you again soon.
